Transshipment business

After several years' forging, Zhangzhou China Merchants Port has been continually perfecting the infrastructure facilities, supportive equipment and port environment and its transshipment business develops rapidly. Besides domestic trade container, foodstuff, log, it recently developed iron mineral transshipment business: firstly by barge transported to our port, then by railway transported to north Fujian .

Presently, the channel with the depth of -10.1 meter, can satisfying with the need of Panamax ship of full load entering port and the post-Panamax ship entering port on tide. The Berth No.1 and No.2 will be put into use at the end of this year, with the water depth of -17.5 meter alongside, the channel will be dredged deeper to meet with the need of ships with DWT 100000 to 150000 entering port and leaving port. Simultaneously Zhangzhou China Merchants Port collocate scientifically and reasonably portal cranes, container cranes and warehousing facilities and the loading and discharging efficiency is high, for iron mineral it reaches 320 ton per vehicle hour. With the perfecting of port, the transshipment business is extending to Yangzi River drainage area and with the Gan-Long railway open to traffic in this April, the company may develop water-railway combined transport and its hinterland will expand to South Jiangxi, North Guangdong and East Hunan .
